Groups Overview

Affino Groups are perfect for all kinds of usage scenarios - Support Groups, Study Groups / Classes, Sports Teams, Neighbourhood Associations, Project Groups etc. - anything which requires some degree of resource sharing and collaboration.

Affino Groups can be Open to All, Apply to Join or By Invitation Only

A Group Screen features the following highlights panels:

• Group Blog - Group Leaders can select to pull their blog posts through to the Group
• Group Details - the Group Introduction with key information, Group Photo / Logo, Group Like, and Thumbnails of Group Leaders
• Group Discussions - Utilise Affino Message Boards for more formal threaded discussions
• Group eTests - Afino eTests can be assigned to Groups - great for study groups and classes
• Group Events - Events set up by Group Leaders
• Group Links - Links to Shared Resources off-site
• Group Media - Shared Media uploaded by Group Members
• Group Members - Thumbnails / Avatars of Group Members
• Group Tools - Join / Leave Group, Report Issues - different tools for Group Leaders as detailed below
• Group Updates / Wall - Text Chat for Group Members - can be used for brief News and Updates
• Related Content - Other on-site content related to Group

Group creation like any User Contribution activity in Affino is enabled by Workflow Profiles - appropriate Media Workflow Profiles also need to be in place too to alllow Members to upload and share Media.

Group Management

The user that sets up the Group becomes that Group’s Leader and has a number of additional options available through the Group Tools:

• Assign Leader - A Group can have several leaders, for a Leader to resign, there must be at least one other Leader already assigned
• Dashboard - Members and Activity Trends
• Expel Member - Leaders can expel lapsed / expired or troublesome members
• Group Settings - Group Visibility and Member Contact and Messaging Settings
• Invite Others - Send invites for people to join the group
• Resign - Resign Group Leader Status
